The automated booth spray tan process

The whole process of receiving a spray tan in an automated booth is much faster and more efficient, due to the technology involved. The spray tan recipient enters the booth and stands in the designated position as marked on the floor of the booth. The system is activated via a button or in some machines via voice activation.

The spray tan mist is emitted by nozzles which move automatically ensuring an even application to the spray tan recipient’s body. Once one side of their body has been sprayed, the recipient turns around so that the other side of their body can be covered. In some booths they may also be required to turn sideways as well. The spray time is around only 2 – 3 minutes, much faster when compared to airbrush handheld spray tans.

The drying process is built into the automatic booth and is also usually much faster than drying after airbrush handheld application.

1. The booth itself is much more expensive than an airbrush tanning setup so the tanning salon must charge accordingly
